People need to stop blowing up all the citadels so I can go test them out. Is it true that you can't use courier contracts with citadels? That and absence from EVE-Central are going to hurt their adoption. I use EVE-Central quite often to decide where to source raw materials from. If the materials listed at citadels don't appear there, I probably won't know they exist, and thus won't go to or contract from those citadels, thus not making use of this cool new game object.

I could test by purchasing something that goes to the Citadel Item Hangar, or whatever it's called and try to make a courier contract. I'm not even sure if normal contract can be done there. Once bought, and that, even if bought remotely, the item in the citadel may not show up in the Asset tool.
"2. That and absence from EVE-Central are going to hurt their adoption." A. Citadel items show up on the EVE Online ingame market tool. Let's say, EVE-Central display a station item, and the Citadel competing item is in the same region, the trader or agent to verify the region market ingame will see those offers, perhaps, unless limited to system...
"3. I use EVE-Central quite often to decide where to source raw materials from. " A. Same as 2. above.
"4. If the materials listed at citadels don't appear there, I probably won't know they exist, and thus won't go to or contract from those citadels, thus not making use of this cool new game object." A. You would need agents to contract with them if you cannot go in the region, unless there is some other way.
Note : A = Answer. Thanks for the detailed response! Regarding how the items show up in the in-game market browser - that is quite a limitation when you are regularly using third party tools to check prices outside your current region. I assumed that lots of players do this, especially those with larger scale market operations or cross-regional trading activities. I realize that this is a complaint related to third party tools, but the fact is that NPC station items work in said tools, while Citadels do not.
That's awesome to hear about contracts. Getting that in place will go a long way towards full adoption. The tax avoidance is a neat trick. Sadly, though, it's not as enticing to larger-scale space businesses who rely on courier contracts for risk mitigation and outsourcing of labor.
